FIRST
STAR BANK, S.S.B. COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT ACT POLICY
STATEMENT: Our Bank is unaware of any practices to discourage application for any types of credit or of any discriminatory or illegal credit practices. Our position is to offer our services to our entire community and serve the needs of all as best we can, based on the facts in each application and credit quality. We have four offices, in Bremond, Calvert, Franklin and Hearne, and provide services at each location. We feel only by being active and assisting our community with all our resources, financial and personal, can we see our progress to benefit our customers and our financial institution. DELINEATION
OF COMMUNITY: The
function of the First Star Bank, S.S.B., Bremond, Calvert, Franklin and
Hearne
Branches, in Robertson County, Texas, is to provide depository and credit
needs of its individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations, city and
county governments and school districts.
This is to be done in a safe and efficient manner to protect their
interests and those of the Bank. It
is also our policy to comply and be consistent with all sound banking
practices, laws and regulations. We
do not discriminate purposefully against any race or any area of our
Community. The area we serve
basically consists of Robertson County, Texas, which consists of the
greatest portion of our business. EFFORTS
TO MEET COMMUNITY NEEDS: First Star Bank,
S.S.B. has been active in our community to help financially
where possible. We have financed the operational needs of the Bremond and
Calvert Independent School Districts. We have also obtained the School's
and County's Depository Contracts and loaned money to both entities as
required. We have
participated in a loan to the Robertson County Fair Association on their
fairgrounds and improvements. We
have made FHA Subordination loans to our local farmers and ranchers and
inquired about FmHA loan for low income housing.
We have made loans to a minority church for remodeling and will
continue to do so, whenever possible for whatever their needs may be.
We have made small personal loans to our low income individuals to
assist them in their personal needs. EFFORTS
TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE COMMUNITY To
enable us to work and assist the community and to ascertain the needs, we
are active in all areas. We
currently are serving on the Bremond, Calvert and Hearne Independent
School District School Boards, have served on the City Council, the local
churches financial boards, Bremond and Hearne Housing Authority, Cemetery
Board, P.T.A., Chamber of Commerce Officers and Directors, Brazos Valley
Development Council, Bremond Ambulance Committee, Lions Club Officers and
Directors, Robertson County Fair Association, Robertson County Go-Texan
Committee, P.T.C.. We provide for speakers at school, provide bank tours for school children and advertise weekly in our local papers. We strongly support various church fund raisers and the youth of our community, especially through purchasing F.F.A. and 4-H projects at the annual livestock show and sale. The youth are also supported through all athletic events that our community offers.
